The Suretek Data Centre is a non-commercial monitoring facility. Our core business is in providing cost effective add on services and emergency facilities to the Australian Security Alarm Monitoring Industry, in particular for Control Centres using the CAMS Monitoring Software. With prior contingency planning tailored to your needs we can provide emergency facilities and systems to ensure your monitoring business keeps operating in the event of failure. If your centre fails we can take over and work with you until you are back online.
When failure occurs
If you operate a 24 hour monitoring facility, you cannot afford to be without backup systems for hardware, software, communications as well as power requirements in the event of failure. In house redundancy is a must for any serious monitoring facility, but what happens in a complete failure situation arising from many causes including fire, flood, blackouts, communication exchange failure, deliberate attack and the list goes on? You can be left with nothing but a Disaster!!
Most security alarm monitoring operations are unable to continue in the event of their telephone, computer or communications systems failure. Similarly, the operations would fail if staff were incapacitated due to illness or accident or if the building housing the operations is deemed uninhabitable. Any of these scenarios or similar catastrophe would seriously impact the abilities of the security monitoring operation and the services to its clients and most of these clients rely on the system to provide notification in event of fire, robbery, hold-ups and equipment failures and so on.
A failure at any one security monitoring centre could potentially leave many customers in danger and also jeopardise any commercial operations for clients and the control room itself. Our system can protect the interests of the security alarm monitoring operation (and its customers by default) from any of the scenarios mentioned above.
Dedicated Management
By utilising our 24 hour manned data centre with dedicated management software and redundancy services, our system can continually monitor the status of the subscribing control rooms. Our system will detect if a subscribing control room’s computer system and/or human operators are available and active. If our system determines that a location is ‘off-line’, it will automatically try multiple alternative data routing paths via fixed line or wireless means (including GPRS or satellite links or other) to try and re-establish the data path to either the same location or another predetermined location. These include alternative monitoring centres and backup sites or alternative backup systems within the original control room. If those avenues fail, our data centre can take over the alarm monitoring processes and notify appropriate contacts of the situation.
Part time Control Rooms
Soon every CAMS control room will be able to offer part time monitoring services with the Suretek Data Centre managing the communications. The system will also allow for the subscribing control rooms to manually set their system to ‘active’ or ‘away’ so that the alarm monitoring process can be continued at another location of their choice or by our data centre in an emergency. This will enable a much more flexible means of operation for many smaller, regional or corporate monitoring operations. In fact the system can take the place of much in the way of typical alarm monitoring hardware usually required in a control room.
In an Emergency, Suretek coordinates everything for you
We don't even need your confidential client data to facilitate and implement a backup operations plan. When a situation arises you simply call our 24 hour data centre, once your identity and authorisation is confirmed the pre set contingency plan is implemented. We coordinate everything from telecommunication for both your voice and data and within minutes your traffic is directed to our receiver farms capable of accepting all types of signals from diallers, GSM, Securitel, and GPRS. At this point our licensed operators are providing the monitoring service on your behalf. We even provide facilities within the Data Centre for your operators to attend while you sort out your problems.

Suretek has conducted many years of research and development in the technology arena and understands the high importance of redundancy. Suretek backs all its services with true 24/7 redundancy and customer support. This is where the Suretek Data Centre really comes into play for our customers.

Suretek has heavily invested in Cisco equipment to support our network infrastructure and the network of our customers. Cisco is the worlds most trusted brand in regards to networking. Both Suretek and Cisco have a similar passion and are both committed to excellence in research and development as well as quality assurance for all the products that we supply.
The Suretek network is proudly supported with redundancy on our Routers, Switches and firewalls.
Our data centre consists of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of the most reliable and efficient computers and servers including clustered servers and SAN solutions. A clustered system solution is commonly beyond many manufacturers realm of expertise due to its high technical specifications and the knowledge required to manage such a technically orientated network. Suretek employs full time certified Microsoft® network engineers dedicated to managing the networks.

It is also the main test site for most of our hardware including, SG2 Gateway and our Surepoll enabled alarm panels. To ensure our products go out into the market at their peak, Suretek tests all products up to 12 months before they are released into the market place. The Suretek Data Centre is the hub for all our product testing; we run a live database for our CAMS software testing and all software upgrades are tested up to three months before they are released to ensure maximum product quality, all our Hardware is tested for faults before it is sent to the customer and we have a live testing area for all hardware testing.
