Another year is upon us and we would like to thank all our customers out there that have supported us over the last 12 months. It has been an honour working with you for the past year and we, at Suretek hope that we will be hearing more from you in the year ahead. That said we would like to give you all a little insight into what’s in store for 2007.

GPRS Lesson 3 - Point to Point vs Store and Forward

This part of our GPRS Lesson series is more fact reporting rather than a lesson on GPRS. It is rather lengthy and one of the most critical to absorb if you want to understand the differences in the GPRS solutions offered. We do hope you read all of it as the advantages and pitfalls between Point to Point versus Store and Forward and Complete Managed Systems vary greatly and have a huge impact on a successful solution. This whole section in the GPRS series would not have required the depth we have gone into here except the fact that one manufacturer is openly defaming the only true, reliable method of communicating from your customer’s site to your control room and stating that traditional communication means is the only solution. When dealing with digital diallers over copper Point to Point is the only way to go but as we move away from conventional alarm reporting, we move away from the way this is communicated. For those somewhat technically minded you will soon realise that some systems being sold today are put to market by companies that obviously either do not understand wireless transmission networks and/or do not want to commit to a long term solution and possibly the more serious, have obviously neglected to do any “real world” load performance network testing.
